Mining and cement industry
In the mining and cement industries, the conditions are dusty and harsh – for the machines as well as the operators of the machines on site.
The Rollstar hydraulic motors with attached planetary gearboxes cope perfectly with these harsh conditions and the climate. They are used on plate belts worldwide and reliably perform their service.
Modular gearboxes for plate belt drives
Planetary gearboxes from Rollstar can be combined in modular design to the parameters required by the machine manufacturer. With this modular design, an almost infinite number of gear combinations is possible.
Many customers of Rollstar such as ThyssenKrupp (and formerly Polysius), HAZEMAG or Irish Cement have been counting on Rollstar products in their plants for decades. Rollstar gearboxes are used, among other things, in plate belt drives used in crushing plants or as loading and unloading conveyors in the cement and raw material industry.
A typical plate belt drive of a stone crushing plant. The plate belt is driven via two four-stage planetary gears with attached Rollstar hydraulic motor in plug-on design. In this application, the maximum output torque for each transmission is 525,000 Nm.
Rollstar planetary gearboxes can be used for plate and conveyor belt drives, but are also suitable for mobile and stationary crushing systems.
Drives in cement production
Rollstar planetary gearboxes are also used in cement production, for example as a drive for wind sifters in cement factories.
The vertical use of the planetary gear with the downward output places increased demands on the bearings of the individual gear stages. In order to meet these technical requirements, Rollstar uses – in addition to the internally manufactured gear components – exclusively high-quality purchase products such as bearings, seals and securing elements.
