Rollstar was founded in 1966 and was the first supplier to bring both its own hydraulic motors and planetary gearboxes to market. This gave rise to the term "hydraulic geared motor".

The family business is being handed over from the then managing director and chairman of the board, Ulrich Ziegler, to the next generation, namely the current managing director, Lukas Ziegler.

Rollstar AG is celebrating its 50th anniversary – a milestone that impressively underscores the company's consistency and success. This year, Lean Management is being introduced throughout the entire company. The system will be implemented under the name RPS (Rollstar Production System).

Rollstar becomes the first manufacturer worldwide to offer hydraulic motors and planetary gearboxes from a single source – thus defining the concept of the hydro-geared motor as a new product segment.
1966
Rollstar AG was founded in Zofingen, laying the foundation for a Swiss company specializing in the development and manufacture of hydraulic motors and planetary gearboxes. The idea: precise, durable, and high-performance drive solutions "Made in Switzerland."

Ziegler AG is developing a plate compactor for road construction.
